Nowhere else quite like it on earth

There are over 1192 islands in the Maldives stretching from the tip of Sri Lanka to the equator. A favourite for luxury beach holidays and honeymoons if you pick the right resort families can have a great time here too.   Most of the hotels have plenty of water based activities but if you are looking for culture or think you’ll go stir crazy being on one island for a week or more then you should look elsewhere in the Indian Ocean.  That said, the Maldives twin very nicely with Sri Lanka.  You can have a tour of Sri Lanka followed by relocation on the icing sugar beaches of the Maldives.  There are over 130 resorts in the Maldives ranging widely in price although there are no real budget options. It would be impossible to cover them all here so if you are interested in going to the Maldives, get in touch and we’ll find the right one for you.  We’ve picked three below, which we like because of the environmental initiatives they are taking.

  • Flying time: 12.5 hours
  • Time difference: + 5 hours
  • Currency: Maldivian Rufiyaa but most hotels prefer card, Euros or Dollars
  • Best time of year to travel: Northern atolls Dec-Apr; Southern atolls Apr-Oct
