South East Asia is a huge region encompassing a wide range of cultures, geographical features and attractions. It includes the mainland area known as Indochina, the Malay Peninsula and a string of archipelagos. Large parts of South East Asia were colonised, often by the French, and much of the colonial architecture remains today, sitting alongside Buddhist and Islamic temples and mosques. The area contains some of the world’s most beautiful beaches and some amazing endemic and often rare wildlife.
