Our approach
I founded Shearwater Travel because I love travelling and seeing the world and I want to bring that joy of experiencing other parts of the world to my clients. Shearwater Travel is fully independent working with over 200 suppliers to put together your perfect holiday. We can book pretty much anything, from a long weekend in Europe to long-haul tailor-made tours, villa holidays to luxury hotels, island hopping, rail holidays and self drive adventures.
When I travel, I like to stay active and in particular I like to walk. Partly because I love the exercise but also because it brings me closer to the country, landscape and people. There are lots of specialist walking holiday companies who put together fantastic walking trips, either as part of a group or privately. But more often than not, when I travel I want to have walking as part of my holiday but not the whole focus.
One of the areas we have worked on at Shearwater Travel is to look for fabulous destinations with great walking opportunities. We can book you on full walking tours in guided groups and on self-guided walking tours. But we also offer something that we believe other agencies do not. And that is we have found some of the best destinations for walking and done extensive research to ensure that when we book our customers on holidays their hotels are within easy reach of some of the nicest walking in that country without compromising on the quality of accommodation and ease of access to other sights and activities. This means that you can be as active as you wish. You might only want to have a few half day strolls, you may want to mix flopping on a beach with a few days’ walking or you may want something more strenuous. Either way, we work very hard to source exactly the right holiday for your travelling style. The critical thing is that the level of activity you undertake is in your hands.

Flexibility
We don't work office hours at Shearwater Travel and appreciate many of our clients lead busy lives. We book travel consultations around your commitments including in the evenings and at weekends and are happy to do these by phone, Zoom or in person if you live in Bristol.
Saving you time
We know that looking for the right holiday can be time consuming. Contacting different tour operators for availability, ideas and pricing can involve many calls and repeat conversations. Let us take all that work off your hands. After an initial travel consultation with us, we go away and do all the research, contacting suppliers and come back to you with options to consider.
Concierge Service
Our concierge service means that not only do we arrange your flights, accommodation and tours but we also can arrange airport parking, airport hotels, airport lounges in the UK and overseas and fast track passes, entrance tickets, excursions and resort transfers. We can even make a restaurant booking for your first night.
Personal Touch
You will usually only deal with one person at Shearwater Travel and we take time to understand your travel wishes so that we can put together a trip custom-made to your requirements.
Creativity
We pride ourselves in coming up with creative ideas for holidays. We keep track of emerging destinations, new hotel openings, new experiences to ensure that our clients get the best holiday possible.
Variety
We have over 200 suppliers which span all areas of travel. We can book all types of trips from villas and beach holidays, to cruises, private or group tours, river cruises, specialist holidays, enabled holidays, ski holidays. You name it, we can book it.
Security
All the tour operators we use are ATOL and in many cases ABTA bonded. So your money is protected. Any money you pay to us is paid immediately into a client account and then paid to the supplier. Payments to us are protected by the Global Travel Group Protection Promise.
